Restaurants - Eating Locally When Going Out to Dinner

We've implemented a 1,2, or 3 carrot rating system this year to classify participating restaurants as follows.....

  3 carrots -100% local except for salt, pepper, leavening agents and other spices (the marco-polo exception)

Same as 3 carrots with the added exceptions of  cooking oils, vinegars and stock

Same as 2 carrots with the added exceptions of sugar, non-local grains, and non-local tomato products

To get a carrot rating, a participating restaurant has promised to have at least one dish of that rating available.  Be sure to ask for the eat local dish and thank them for participating.

Disclaimer :  There are many restaurants in the area that offer 1,2 and even 3 carrot dishes during the challenge and even throughout the year that are not listed here.  Only restaurants that we've had direct contact with are listed.  Go out, explore, ask questions, and encourage other restaurants to get involved.  Send them to our website if they are interested in being on this list.  All that it takes to get listed is letting us know!
